November 22, 2020, 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ W.E. Hunt Recreation Center
The community is invited to this outdoor ceremony for Holly Springs Elementary, a school for Black children that stood on the site of Hunt Recreation Center for nearly a half century, beginning in the 1920's. The original plank structure was a Rosenwald School, one of thousands envisioned by Booker T. Washington that Chicago philanthropist Julius Rosenwald provided building plans and construction grants for to aid African-American education in the South. The historical marker is a collaboration of the Town of Holly Springs and members of the community. Those attending should wear masks and observer social distancing. As an alternative to attending the ceremony, the public can watch it live on YouTube at: https://youtu.be/iOc2ZAhOXyQ
November 22, 2020, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM @ Holly Springs Cultural Center Facebook page Town of Holly Springs YouTube Channel.
While we've been apart this year, the Cultural Center teamed up with local musicians to keep the music alive...online! This week, we feature a smooth saxophone quartet called "The Overtones." Settle into the comfort of home and enjoy a free performance with dinner, drinks, and family. Watch from the Holly Springs Cultural Center Facebook page or the Town of Holly Springs YouTube Channel.
