At its June 9 workshop, the Holly Springs Town Council and staff discussed the town’s stormwater management program, among other items.
The Holly Springs stormwater program manages rain run-off, provides flood control, minimizes run-off erosion and preserves stream water quality requirements. Council and staff discussed the challenges associated with the town’s aging stormwater infrastructure - nearly 50% of the 150 miles of storm drainage pipe in Holly Springs is 20 years old or greater. While the workshop discussion provided an overview of the program, additional discussion is planned in the coming months.
Also at the workshop, the Holly Springs Town Council confirmed Aug. 27 as the date for a Joint Town Council / Planning Board / Citizen Advisory Committee meeting to review the draft Land Use & Character Plan, part of a document that guides decisions on how the town will grow, look, and feel in the future.
