Beginning Oct. 6, get vehicle registration tags at a new N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles office opening in South Park Village shopping center.
The office will be open weekdays from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at 408 Village Walk. It will be in the former Curves space next to Harris Teeter.
Visit for handicap parking placards and state wildlife vessel registrations, and for notary and car titling services.
Mayor Dick Sears said town officials have been working for two years to get the state Department of Transportation to open a DMV location here.
"This is good news for Holly Springs," he said.
The nearest license plate office currently is in Cary.
The Holly Springs office will not serve as a driver’s license testing bureau. The nearest office for that is at 131 South Fuquay Ave. in Fuquay-Varina.
