[ARCHIVED] Dance, smile and enjoy free live music at the Holly Springs Cultural Center

Summer nights are all about taking in the beautiful warm weather, relaxing and cherishing good times with family and friends! Come out to the Holly Springs Cultural Center on Friday, June 12, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. to indulge in snacks, drinks and, of course, good music as the Will McBride Group takes the outdoor stage!

Friday night’s performance is part of the Summer at the Springs Outdoor Concert Series, which offers a variety of different live bands that have much to offer. From rock music, to funky jazz, to pop hits, everyone can come and enjoy the shows!

The concert on Friday will feature the Will McBride Group, a trio that performs their own creative interpretations of cover material music. Playing the guitar, bass and percussion, the group’s music includes Latin, rock, jazz and pop. The Will McBride Group has performed at major concert venues, such as Raleigh’s City Plaza and Durham’s Performing Arts Center.

“The quality of their music is very high,” said Kathleen Hebert, the program coordinator for the Cultural Center.

This show is not one to miss! The best part? It’s FREE! Just bring a lawn chair or a blanket, and kick back and relax to the sound of the music. Bring your own picnic dinner or take advantage of the cash bar selling wine and beer, sodas and snacks on the lawn.

“We get about 400-500 people at these concerts,” Hebert said. “We encourage people to bring Frisbees, soccer balls and even their dogs.”

Part of the street will be closed off so kids and their families can play while enjoying the band.
During the concert, the Cultural Center is featuring Paper Chop Shop, the art of Tim Saguinsin. Visit the Artist Reception, located inside, from 6-8 p.m., which will showcase some of Mr. Saguinsin’s recent work.

Look for more of these free outdoor concerts to fulfill your summer Friday nights! For more information, contact the Holly Springs Cultural Center at (919) 567-4000 or click here for the schedule.
