Town offices, the Cultural Center and the Hunt Recreation Center will be closed for Memorial Day this Monday, May 25. Bass Lake Park remains open. Trash and recycling service will be delayed one day throughout next week with service running Tuesday through Saturday.
Prior to Memorial Day, it’s a big weekend in Holly Springs. Town-organized activities include:
Free Outdoor Blues Concert6:30 p.m. at the Cultural CenterThe first Summer at the Springs outdoor concert begins at 6:30 p.m. as the Lockdown Blues Band performs on the lawn outside the Holly Springs Cultural Center. Freeze pops, beer and wine will be sold. Bring lawn chairs and a picnic dinner.
Holly Springs Farmers Market8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. downtownFarmers market vendors have what you need to kick off the summer! Come by the market on Main Street across from Town Hall and meet Sal the Salamander, as well as Princess Belle and a couple of her friends. Free movie: Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa10 a.m. at the Cultural CenterEnjoy a free movie at the Holly Springs Cultural Center Saturday morning!
Pro Series Catfish Tournament7-11 p.m. at Bass Lake ParkCome for a night tournament when the big fish bite! The cost to enter the tournament is $5 per person. Each participant’s three largest catfish will be weighed to determine who takes home fishing-related prizes donated by Cabela’s. Arrive about a half hour early to register at the park office or even earlier to grab a lakeside spot.
Memorial DayThough most Town facilities are closed for Memorial Day, Bass Lake Park (and the park office) is open. Rent a boat and enjoy a trip across the lake!
