[ARCHIVED] Garbage, Recycling Service Continues 1 Day Behind

Waste Industries is collecting garbage and recycling Thursday from customers on its Wednesday routes. Crews are running a day behind and will work through Saturday so they can reach everyone.

Customers who miss collection this week because they failed to have their carts at the curb in time are asked to wait for next week's collection if possible.

However, Waste Industries said it was trying to remain flexible this week. So residents who miss their collection this week and cannot wait until next week should call Holly Springs Public Works at (919) 552-5920. Town staff members will relay those requests to Waste Industries.

Wake County public schools were closed Thursday.

Town parks and recreation programs and classes mirror Wake County Public Schools on weather closings and delays. However, parks and recreation facilities may be open even when programs and classes are canceled.
