Waste Industries began collecting garbage and recycling Wednesday from customers on its Tuesday routes. Crews will run about a day behind, working through Saturday to try to reach everyone.
Assuming no problems with road conditions, Waste Industries expects to complete all routes by Saturday.
Customers who miss collection this week because they failed to have their carts at the curb in time are asked to wait for next week's collection if possible.
However, Waste Industries said it was trying to remain flexible this week. So residents who miss their collection this week and cannot wait until next week should call Holly Springs Public Works at (919) 552-5920. Town staff will relay those requests to Waste Industries.
On Wednesday, town offices and parks and recreation facilities opened at 10 a.m. The
Wake County Public Schools are closed Wednesday.
Town parks and recreation programs and classes mirror Wake County Public Schools on weather closings and delays. However, parks and recreation facilities may be open even when programs and classes are canceled.
