Public Works crews have trucks ready with sand and salt in case roads turn icy Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
"We're prepared as best we can be," Public Works Director Luncie McNeil said, adding that equipment checks and the gathering of supplies began months ago.

Hunt Recreation Center will open Wednesday at 5 a.m. Parks and Recreation programs and classes will have a 2-hour delay since schools are delayed 2 hours. At this time, all town facilities are set to open at the regular hour.
Parks and Recreation programs and classes were cancelled Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m.
Hunt Recreation Center and Womble Park synthetic turf field closed at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Town Parks and Recreation programs follow the school system's schedule on cancellations. Decisions on facility hours and on rentals are handled independently.
Waste Industries' collection of garbage and recyclables will be delayed by 2 hours Wednesday morning.
Seven Public Works trucks with a plow attached to the front and a salt and sand spreader on the back are on hand along with a motor grader, McNeil said. Late Tuesday morning, crews began filling the trucks with a 3-to1 mixture of sand plus salt.
