[ARCHIVED] Recycling Cart Switch Largely Completed

Waste Industries has switched out recycling carts on all routes and is now tracking homes that may have been missed. Call (919) 662-7100 if you did not receive a new cart or still have the old one.

The change to collection every other week with larger, 96-gallon carts occurs the weeks of Aug. 18 and Aug. 25. Your collection day remains the same.

The new carts are twice the size of those they are replacing.

Attached to each cart is a plastic bag containing two pieces of information. One is a decal that you can attach to the cart if you wish. The decal has lists of what can, and cannot, be recycled. The other piece of information is a service calendar for the remainder of 2014.

The changes are part of a new 3-year contract with Waste Industries that prevented a solid waste fee increase July 1. Without the changes, the fee would have gone up by 2.7 percent.

Contact Waste Industries at (919) 662-7100 with questions about recycling cart delivery or retrieval.
