[ARCHIVED] Reward Offered in Kidnapping, Wounding of McDonald's Manager

A reward is offered in the case of a McDonald’s of Holly Springs manager who was kidnapped, shot and wounded early July 2 by a man who wanted to rob the restaurant.

The unidentified man kidnapped the manager when she arrived home in Raleigh after closing the restaurant for the night. He forced her to return there with him and shot her as she escaped.

The Raleigh Police Department is offering the reward since the kidnapping originated there. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Detective W.E. Nordstrom at (919) 996-1051.

Detective Sgt. Mike Stone of the Holly Springs Police Department is working with Raleigh detectives on the case.

“We are in direct contact daily and following leads in both Raleigh and Holly Springs,” he said July 21.

The assailant confronted the manager when she arrived home about 12:30 a.m. He forced her to return with him to the restaurant, which is at 7100 G.B. Alford Highway.

When they arrived at McDonald's, the manager took the opportunity to flee after the man got out of her vehicle. She was shot during the escape and drove herself to the hospital. The manager was released after treatment and continues to recuperate.

Her kidnapper was described as a short, thin black man wearing a dark colored sweatshirt, black gloves, dark pants, and also a dark cover over his face. He was armed with a silver revolver. The man was last seen near McDonald’s on foot.
