Enjoy music, food, games and fireworks at the annual Independence Day celebration on Saturday, July 5 at Sugg Farm Park from 5 - 9:30 p.m.
Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.
This year’s event will be the second at Sugg Farm Park. The former working farm is at the end of Grigsby Avenue, adjacent to Bass Lake Park and just down the road from Womble Park.
Leaving the park after the fireworks should be faster this year than last with the addition of a second lane out and a new traffic pattern.
At 9 p.m., police will stop vehicle entry into the park to have two lanes exiting when the fireworks end about 9:30 p.m. Officers will direct one lane up Grigsby on the south side of Womble Park. Officers will guide the other lane through the nearby subdivision along Blooming Meadows Road to reach Stinson Avenue on the north side of Womble Park.
The festival will include activities for kids including inflatables, face-painting, crafts and games. Other activities including potato sack races and a cornhole tournament.
Festival sponsors include Church in Motion and Neighborhood Family Care.
