Holly Springs Town offices will close from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday, May 2 to allow Town employees to attend a greenway dedication in memory of long-time Town Manager Carl Dean.
Dedication of the 1.3-mile paved greenway linking Womble and Bass Lake parks will occur on the one-year anniversary of Dean’s death.
The 90-minute closing on May 2 will not affect emergency operations.
Dean had completed his 12th year as Holly Springs’ town manager when he died unexpectedly. The greenway is part of a major parks and recreation facilities expansion that began under his leadership.
This fall, more soccer fields and tennis courts are scheduled to open as the first phase of the North Main Athletic Complex. A multi-sport stadium is slated to open in there in 2015.
