Thanks to an NCDOT project, wheelchair-accessible ramps on major roads in Holly Springs are receiving improvements during the upcoming months! When complete, the accessible ramps will be painted yellow to improve visibility, as recommended by federal accessibility guidelines.
The federally funded NCDOT project will bring all ramps on state-maintained roads in Holly Springs, Knightdale, and Zebulon into ADA compliance. In Holly Springs, ramps along Sunset Lake, Optimist Farm, Holly Springs, Bass Lake, Avent Ferry, Cass Holt, and Woods Creek roads; Grigsby Avenue, and N.C. 55 will be addressed.
Meanwhile, Town crews are addressing ramps on roads maintained by Holly Springs. The ramps at the Ballentine Street and Avent Ferry Road intersection, as well as other ramps in the downtown area, are the first planned for reconstruction.
