Once again, Holly Springs is ranked one of the safest towns in North Carolina! The latest ranking from MoneyGeek continues a consistent trend of the Town being ranked as one of the best and safest places to live in the state and nation. MoneyGeek cited the Town’s low violent and property crime rates and minimal economic losses attributed to crime as factors influencing their ranking of Holly Springs as the #2 safest town in North Carolina.

Holly Springs Police Chief Paul Liquorie attributes the Town’s consistently top safety ratings to the phenomenal officers and partnerships within the community.

“Our police department utilizes data driven and purposeful police practices to ensure it is using its resources to limit crime within the town,” he said. “Community partnerships play an active role by informing the police where to concentrate their efforts.”

In 2022, as the Town’s population grew, calls for service increased at a lower rate and crime rates overall remained low. Holly Springs residents are 13 times less likely to experience violent crime than people living in other parts of the state and five times less likely to experience property crime compared with other parts of the state and nation.

Throughout the year, the Holly Springs Police Department also seeks to build meaningful relationships with residents through a variety of events and programs. Community outreach efforts include Coffee with a Cop, fundraisers for Special Olympics of North Carolina, 5k and 10k races, a running club, Hotdogs and Hoops at local housing developments, youth academies and fishing events, bicycle rodeos, and more.

“Our implementation of the Police-Community Advisory Group and the Citizen Police Academy also have been highly successful community programs that both provide insight into our department’s operations and establish direct pathways for greater citizen feedback,” Liquorie said.

The Holly Springs Police Department remains committed to continued training of its officers and evaluations of policies to ensure the department meets modern, professional standards.
