Finding a parking space in downtown Holly Springs is getting easier with the opening of both levels of the new parking deck.
The deck opening brings the total number of public parking spaces in downtown Holly Springs to 709. Another 124 spaces are on the way within areas still under construction. Click here for a map of public parking in the downtown Holly Springs Village District.
Along with the parking deck, a new parking lot across Avent Ferry Road and additional on-street parking have been added with recent downtown development.
The upper level of the parking deck is accessible from Rogers Street, which flows one way toward Avent Ferry Road. Access to the lower level of the deck is from Avent Ferry Road. Ballentine Street between Avent Ferry Road and Main Street flows one way, toward Main Street, where a traffic signal is planned. Delivery and installation of the signal poles are anticipated late this year. This portion of the project was delayed in part due to flooding in the Midwest at the signal pole manufacturing facility.
Construction of additional downtown parking is in conjunction with an uptick in new retail, restaurant and office spaces, including those at Town Hall Commons, a 45,000-square-foot building. Construction of The Block, a 52,530-square-foot, three-story building is well underway.
Completion of both Town Hall Commons and The Block means about 35 businesses (with an additional 60 businesses in expanded coworking space) for downtown Holly Springs. The developments are expected to make an $85.7 million economic impact to the town during the first year of operations and construction. Following that, the developments are expected to have an annual $49.7 million economic impact. Over 20 years, the group of projects is projected to generate $1 billion in regional economic impact.
