Garbage & Recycling

The Town of Holly Springs, through GFL Environmental, provides residential curbside collection of garbage and recycling. Residents sign up for garbage and recycling service when requesting water service in the Finance Department at Town Hall.

Garbage collection occurs weekly. Recycling is collected every other week on the same day of the week as garbage collection. Collection of trash and recycling can occur any time during your scheduled day; collection trucks run throughout the day until 7 p.m. Place carts at least 5 feet from the closest mailbox or post.

Remember to place only appropriate items in your garbage container. Materials such as dirt, yard waste, construction materials, and household hazardous waste items should not be placed in your garbage container. Dispose of these items properly, such as through the town’s yard waste collection or by taking the materials to a Wake County waste or recycling facility.

Household hazardous waste

Residents can drop off household hazardous materials at the South Wake Landfill at 6130 Old Smithfield Road, Apex. Click here for more information on county household hazardous waste collection. For more information, contact the county at (919) 856-7400.

Billing

Charges for garbage, recycling and yard waste are included in utility bill, which is mailed monthly on the first working day of each month for the previous month's service.
