Construction is beginning soon on an Operations Campus for Town services that keep our growing community clean and functioning efficiently. The campus will include a convenience center for residents to drop off yard waste when they have excessive amounts or want to dispose of waste ahead of their scheduled collection day. The campus includes office and meeting space for Public Works teams including administration, solid waste collection, street repairs, and concrete. Staff from Utilities & Infrastructure and other administrative departments also will be based on the campus.
Adjacent to the Utley Creek Water Reclamation Facility in the Holly Springs Business Park, the first phase of the Operations Campus includes:
Convenience center for yard waste drop off.
Two-story administration building with offices and meeting space.
Approximately 28,000-square-foot building with warehouse and office space for Public Works staff, equipment, and supplies.
Work to build the access road and construction staging area is planned to begin in Summer 2023. Building construction is set to begin in mid 2024 with work projected to wrap up in 2026.
Future phases of the Operations Campus could incorporate a new fleet maintenance building, fueling center, vehicle wash area, and additional storage and staging areas.
In addition to the Town’s project, the NC Department of Transportation is building a new connector road in the business park, along with a spur connection to Trinity Creek. While providing access to additional properties within the business park, the road will improve safety and traffic flow by providing an additional point of interconnection.
