Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service in Holly Springs

NOTE: Due to possible inclement weather, the town's Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service scheduled for Monday, Jan. 17, has been adjusted. Care package assembly and thank you card creation has been moved indoors to the Hunt Center from 10 a.m.-noon Monday. Work on horseshoe pits and Gaga ball court construction will be rescheduled to another day.

Holly Springs wants to build a better community in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., through volunteer service.

Drop off donated personal size items (lip balm, hand lotion, pre-packaged snacks, etc.)

  • Monday, January 3rd through Saturday, January 15th
  • Bass Lake, Cultural Center, Hunt Center
  • All ages

Help assemble care packages and create thank you cards to bundle for distribution. This is a drop-in activity.

  • Monday, January 17 at 10 a.m. until noon 
  • Updated location: inside Hunt Center
  • Ages 4 and up
  • Pre-registration is not required

Womble Park Service Project - Horseshoe Pit Reno and Gaga Pit Install 

Help improve the three horseshoe pits and install a new Gaga ball pit at Womble Park. Dress for the outdoor weather and in clothes that are suitable for getting dirty. A waiver will be required at sign-up. In case of inclement weather, the project is subject to be rescheduled or canceled.

  • Date of this portion of of the event will be rescheduled due to possible inclement weather.
  • Ages 16 years and up (ages 10-15 must bring an adult to supervise)
  • Pre-registration is required to ensure adequate supplies
