Parks & Recreation Bond Projects
Parks and Recreation Bond (November 2011)
Amount: $20 million authorized
Amount Issued: $12 million
Amount Remaining: $8 million
Description: Construction of sports fields, greenways and outdoor recreational amenities
A January 2019 online survey indicated strong support among residents for new greeenways and trails, followed by park development for passive and for active recreational opportunities.
The Town's external financial advisor has determined that no property tax increase would be required to finance the additional debt that would result from issuing the remaining $8 million in parks and recreation bonds. The Town Council has expressed intent to move forward with issuing the remainder of bonds that voters authorized in 2011, and staff is currently drafting potential specific projects for consideration by council.
