Holly Springs Town Manager Randy Harrington announced the appointment of LeeAnn Plumer as the town’s new Parks & Recreation director. She begins her position with the town Feb. 7.
A Holly Springs resident since 2012, Plumer is a former Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce CEO and former Holly Springs Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee member.
"LeeAnn brings strong leadership and experience to our team,” Harrington said. “She possesses a deep commitment to our community, a strong customer and employee focus, and passion in ensuring that our Parks & Recreation programs and amenities are a source of pride for our community."
Plumer most recently worked as a division manager with Cary Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources.
She led the department's effort for national reaccreditation and achievement of the National Gold Medal for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management. She also was responsible for technology initiatives, marketing, budget administration, special services, and the oversight of parks and greenways in Cary.
Before moving to Holly Springs, Plumer served for 12 years as the director of the Recreation and Parks Department for Annapolis, Maryland. She coordinated several notable capital projects, including the construction of an 80,000-square-foot recreation center and numerous park redevelopment projects.
Plumer received her undergraduate degree in Recreation Administration from Bowling Green State University (Ohio) and holds a Masters in Business Administration from University of Maryland University College. She is a Certified Parks and Recreational Professional from the National Recreation and Park Association.
Adam Huffman, who served as interim Parks & Recreation director following the retirement of longtime director Len Bradley, will continue as assistant director of the department.
