The Town Council has heard your concerns about traffic congestion and has ordered a bond referendum for the Nov. 6 election when voters will decide whether the Town should issue $40 million in bonds to fund transportation improvements. Voter approval would lead to many projects, including an initial set of smaller, quicker-turnaround, higher-impact projects. An example is a right turn lane on N.C. 55 between Avent Ferry Road and Main Street, increasing the capacity of the turn lane from just a few cars to many. Another example is an additional right turn lane on Main Street in the southbound lane at Holly Springs Road.
