Do you have thoughts on how town tax dollars should be spent during the upcoming budget year? If so, the April 4 Town Council meeting will be an ideal time to share them.
The council will set aside time for citizens’ budget priorities during its regular meeting April 4. It begins at 7 p.m. upstairs in Town Hall at 128 S. Main St.
Since the budget year begins July 1, late winter or early spring is the optimum time for citizen feedback. Departments are preparing their requests for the town manager, who will decide what to include in the proposed budget.
In June, the Town Council will hold its required public hearing on the manager’s recommendations. By then, however, it may be too late for changes that require substantial re-balancing. So the council prefers to hear from citizens while the budget is being drafted.
If you cannot attend April 4 or prefer not to speak, you can e-mail your thoughts to the town clerk at firstname.lastname@example.org.
