Santa is Coming to Town! Holiday Events in Holly Springs

Here’s a quick look at festive activities in Holly Springs during the holiday season.

Main Events

Storytime and crafts at the Cultural Center, holiday open houses at downtown businesses, performances at Holly Springs United Methodist Church, a live nativity at Holly Springs Point Church, and more... all topped off with the tree lighting at 8 p.m. in front of the Cultural Center. Details

Happy Holly Days Christmas Parade
Saturday, Dec. 14
Pre-parade performances: 10 a.m.
Parade begins at 11 a.m.
Downtown Holly Springs

ParadeFloats, bands, dancers, decorated vehicles, horses, marching groups and all sorts of entertaining entries will travel Main Street through downtown, starting at Holly Springs Road and ending at Rogers Street. Details

New this year:  

  • Parade route is extended one block, past the new Town Hall Commons development. 
  • The parade is going aerial! Weather permitting, the Bandit Flight Team is performing a national anthem flyover to kick off the parade at 11 a.m. The team flies vintage aircraft to preserve military Warbird heritage and as an opportunity to salute veterans.
  • Pre-parade performances: Enjoy an hour of performances at select locations along Main Street when the road closes at 10 a.m. in preparation for the parade.

Photos with Santa at the Holly Springs Farmers Market

Bring the kids (or the dogs) to the Holly Springs Farmers Market. You can take their photo with Santa free of charge. While you’re at the market, enjoy local farmers and food producers offering a variety of food for sale.

Santa Cares

Sensory-friendly holiday event allows families with all types of special needs to experience a visit with Santa in a comforting environment. Accommodations are made to support the sensory, physical and developmental needs of Santa’s guests free of charge. (Click here to schedule an appointment.)

Main Street Christmas
Saturday, Dec. 13, 6-7:30 p.m.
Santa is in Holly Springs Town Hall

The line to visit with Santa during Main Street Christmas gets long – fast. He’s a very popular fellow! Santa will be in Town Hall during Main Street Christmas before traveling to the Cultural Center to light the Christmas tree. Prepare to arrive early and wait in a long line if you want to visit him during this well-attended event. Or, take the advice of the Town Hall elves: Skip the crowds and visit with him at one of our other free events!

Cookies with Santa
Saturday, Dec. 14, 2-4 p.m.
Holly Springs Fire Station 1

Visit with Santa and Cinder, the Fire Department’s fire safety dog, and firefighters while enjoying cookies. This free event offers another great opportunity to take photos with the jolly fellow in red.

Angel TreeChristmas Store
Through Dec. 4
Holly Springs Town Hall

The Town of Holly Springs will be partnering with the Christmas Store again this holiday season. The Christmas Store is designed to help families in our local area who are in need during the holidays. 

Pick up Christmas tree tags with a child’s age and gender in the Town Hall lobby. Return all unwrapped gifts by Wednesday, Dec. 4. Volunteers will pick up the unwrapped donations the following day. 

Families needing assistance are referred to The Christmas Store by Western Wake Crisis Ministry, Dorcas Ministries, The Fuquay-Varina Emergency Food Pantry, and Holly Springs Food Cupboard. Guidance counselors and social workers in the schools also make referrals of children in need. 

Toys for Tots
Now through Dec. 17
Holly Springs Fire Stations 1 and 2

Join us in participating in the Marine Toys for Tots Program, collecting new unwrapped toys to distribute to less fortunate children at Christmas. Please drop off unwrapped toys between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays if possible. Or, to arrange a special delivery time, call Fire Station 1 (919) 567-4733.

Police Angel Tree Christmas Outreach
Monday, Nov. 25-Friday, Dec. 20
Holly Springs Law Enforcement Center

Visit the Holly Springs Law Enforcement Center to help brighten the holiday of a local student in need. Tags listing the child’s age, gender and wish list will be hanging on the Christmas tree in the police station lobby. Return unwrapped gifts by Friday, Dec. 21. Children are identified for the Angel Tree by school resource officers and guidance counselors.
